In Evans v. Meadowlands Hospital, 2015 WL 2359829, our firm represented appellant Dr. Peter F. DiPaolo, M.D., in a complex medical malpractice appeal following a six-week jury trial. The appeal challenged the trial court's rulings concerning improper opening statements, evidentiary exclusions of a hospital's analysis, and the impact of high-low settlement agreements. Though the appellate court eventually affirmed the verdict against Dr. DiPaolo, this case underscored significant issues in trial/appellate practice in medical litigation.
