On September 23, 1779, John Paul Jones was an American captain of the Bonhomme Richard, which had been hit by cannon fire from the British Serapis during the Battle of Flamborough Head. Jones had been born in Kirkcudbrightshire (Scotland). As the Bonhomme Richard waivered, Jones said: “Surrender be damned, I have not yet begun to fight.” In the face of an adverse verdict, that is our approach at Pollock Law: we do not abandon our clients in the middle of a fight.
