In C. Mark Whitehead III, The Whitehead Law Firm, LLC, and Goforth Lewis & Sanford LLP v. Stull, Stull & Brody, Civil Action No. 17-4704 (SRC), Plaintiffs, represented in part by Jeffrey M. Pollock, sued for alleged referral fees from the large Vioxx Class Action MDL. The court unfortunately ruled against the Plaintiffs, stating their fee-sharing agreement did not follow New Jersey's ethical rules for lawyers and that they hadn't provided enough clear evidence of a valid contract.
